cold shoulder.

March 10, 2016

Hellooo Beautiful People of the Internet -- long time no talk. (Don't blame me blame Purdue Engineering) I know what you're thinking: Dammmnnnn Demi, back at it again with the black and white outfit. But guys, I really can't help it. I'm trying to do better I really am. Its just so hard.

The title of this post is very ironic? Why? Because my shoulders actually were freeeeezing in this outfit. Given, it was 100% my fault since I got a little too excited that it was going to be 55 degrees outside and didn't think to check whether it would be windy or not (and in case you were wondering, it was v windy.). I can't complain though because with this bipolar Indiana/Midwest weather, I'll take what I can get....even if it means cold shoulders. This trend is so so so popular for spring and probably summer and it can be found in dresses, shirts, or rompers. I'm sure this won't be the last 'cold shoulder' outfit on the blog so here's how I styled a shirt!:)

camel coat.

February 28, 2016

I'd been on the hunt for a perfect camel coat for about a year and a half, so when I saw this online it was love at first sight. Online shopping is a hardcore hit or miss in my opinion so I was really skeptical at first. I have 3 online stores that I trust buying things from because of how much of a hassle it is to return stuff. If you're in the same boat, ASOS is probably one of my favorite online stores and its relatively inexpensive. For most of their clothes, they have a runway view so you can see them on a someone.

Shopping 101: Now is probably the best time to buy winter coats because they're  about to start going out of season!!

Happy Shopping ;)

Perks of having 3 sisters? You have 3 times as many clothes because you can steal theirs. ;) I say that because as much as I would love to take credit for this amazing turtleneck sweatshirt, I can't because sadly it's not mine! :( Its my little sister's but was too perfect to not steal and I can honestly say I don't regret a thing.

The reason I love this outfit so much is because it's so comfortable since it is a sweatshirt, but the turtleneck aspect of it makes it more stylish than your average crewneck. Plus, you can never go wrong with an all black 'fit amiright?!?!

twenty.

February 07, 2016

This was probably one of the most amazing birthdays ever. Just a little background for you birthdays are a HUGE deal to me (like a really big deal). And the reason this birthday was so amazing was because I got to spend time with the people I love the most.

My family came to town for half of the day and that night was spent stuffing my face in 25 different flavors of ice cream with my best friend. I realized that night that I don't need a big turnup or be surrounded by people that don't even know that my name isn't Demi to have an amazing birthday. lol Being surrounded by the few people that I love and love me is all I really need.

I know I'm a bit late on this post, but at least now I can REALLY tell you how it feels to be twenty. I'm a couple weeks in and its going pretty s'well.  Its beyond weird to think that I'm no longer a teenager, but I'm so excited to start my twenties. I mean I've learned so much already but the biggest thing that I've learned is this -- DO NOT TAKE BALLON PICS WHEN ITS 34 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND WINDY, IT DOES NOT END WELL. (Shoutout to Chan for being the real MVP and helping me take these pics.)  The 19 year old me wouldn't want to share these pictures but the 20 year old me doesn't give a care. ;)  Enjoy the bloopers and here's to 20 more carefree years.

a little prep in my step.

January 23, 2016

The thought (and reality) of this being my last blog post as a teen actually makes me really sad. I FEEEL SO OLD. But at least this is a blog post about one of my most recent and favorite purchases as a teenager--my bucket bag. Guys, I'm obsessed.

I wasn't trying to spend an arm and a leg on a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag because it is a trend that may go out of style in the next few months so when I saw this one at Forever 21 I got so excited.  I added a Michael Kors Puff (another trend) that I think makes the bag look more chic. Check out how I styled it!!

Happy Scrolling!! <3

new year, same me?

January 10, 2016

Here I am, the 10th of January writing my first post of 2016. First, 2015 went by so fast. Like I know we say that every year but this year was insane. Secondly, I suck. Why might you ask? because one of the things on my new years resolution list was to blog more consistently.....that obvi hasn't started off well. BUT HAVE NO FEAR, I'll get better I promise. :)

This look is honestly so simple. The poncho trend was so in for fall and thank goodness it carried into the winter because it drastically shortened the amount of time it took for me to pick out my outfit. Literally all you have to do is wear a basic tee, some jeans, and simple shoes (sneakers, boots, booties--you pick!) underneath the poncho. Then, throw the poncho on and voila you're done! I got lucky and found this poncho at Charlotte Russe for $5. I love it -- the only con about it is that its really thin.

Sometimes I think stores forget we live in the midwest and winter is only just starting after Christmas BUT they ship in all of their spring lines and swimsuits anyway. What does this mean for you? Right now all of the winter clothes, shoes and accessories are going on sale (which means ponchos for a steal!) Happy Shopping. ;)

groutfit.

December 21, 2015

I can honestly say I have never wanted to be home as badly as I did for Christmas break. Finals and school kicked my behind and it feels amazing to be writing this post knowing that I don't have any school work that I probably should be doing. I'm currently snuggled up on the couch in the hearth room, watching soccer with my dad -- GO ARSENAL, while the fire place is on and Tobi (my adorable maltipoo) is snuggled up beside me. It doesn't get much better than  this folks.

Sorry for the prologue but I'm just so excited to be home. Now on to the 'fit. Just incase you've never heard of the term before, here's the urban dictionary definition of groutfit: an outfit made out of completely gray; a grey top and grey bottoms. It was a pretty big fall trend and I decided to bring it into to the winter with me. While its not a full on groutfit since I'm wearing a white sweater, it's still pretty darn close.

Merry Christmas Beautiful People!!

literally kim...

December 16, 2015

Alright guys, this one's a quickie.  If you're a religious KUWTK watcher like me, you hopefully have a hint as to what this post is about. Since day 1 Kourtney has been my favorite Kardashian, bible. Her effortless, chic style is so classy and simple. But fashion aside, I'm obsessed her hilarious intonation and inflection of her words and constant picking on Kim.

Here I tried to mimic her style through this Kourt-esq outfit -- a lot of black and white. Let's be honest, her lack of color is probably why I like her style so much.

casual ootd.

December 11, 2015

Hello beautiful people,

So here we are, Friday of dead week. And you're probably stressed -- I know I am. That's why I'm writing this post.  This whole week I was feeling terrible and super sick. So what better to do then go on a quick shoot with your blogger besties, right? People told me that they couldn't tell I was sick because I was "dressed nicely" (that definitely changed as the week went on, but thats another story). Anyways, the way I was able to look presentable was because the outfit was SUPER easy. In my opinion, it's such a casual and chic outfit that you probably have in your closet and you don't even know it. Even if you're sick or just lazy, you now have a comfortable, super quick alternative to sweats.

wishful thinking.

December 03, 2015

If you're anything like me and have a bazillion things that you want during the year but then when Christmas rolls around and you can't think of anything you want (until the day after Christmas of course) then this is for you! This post is titled wishful thinking for a reason peeps (it really is me thinking wishfully) but i thought maybe I'd share it with you to give you ideas about what you might ask for for Christmas if you have brain blocks like me.

Disclaimer: I know that the main purpose of Christmas is not gifts, but rather celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and getting to spend time with family. So enjoy no school, no tests, and endless amounts of food and family time while you're home....but until then, good luck on finals(we'll all need it ;))

the camel trench.

November 29, 2015

Just like that it's over. Thanksgiving break is done and school starts tomorrow and honestly, I'm just not ready to go back. As much fun as calculus 3 and coding are, I'm kind of over this whole school thing. But its okay because we only have 3 weeks -- WE GOT THIS. The only thing holding me back from stressing right now is the thought of Cyber Monday and all of the amazing sales that will relieve my stress...hopefully my bank account is on the same wavelength.

Let's talk fashion (the real reason why you're here). So the camel coat is a fall/winter trend that comes back every year. The search for the perfect trench wasn't easy and was about a year long search but i finally (accidentally) stumbled upon one at Charlotte Russe. It's definitely thinner than I wanted but the look was so chic I couldn't put it down. Unfortunately, they don't have the trench available for purchase online anymore but i linked one that is very similar and not expensive at all!

Alright, back to stressing about school. :)

the girl in the striped pants.

November 22, 2015

This post is actually really sad. why? Because this reminds me that just 2 weeks ago the weather was nice enough that I could wear this outfit and now its snowing. :(  I battled with whether or not I should still post this look because of this weather change, but as you can see I decided to do it.

Living in the midwest for 4 years has changed how I dress during winter. My theory is this: Don't dress for the weather because it's always going to be cold and you'll end up wearing sweatshirts and Uggs everyday. Instead you should dress cute, and just throw a jacket over it for when you're outside. The reality is that you'll end up driving to most places anyway and you'll only be outside for a short period of  time. Moral of the story? Don't let the snow kill you fashion vibe.

boyfriend inspired

November 16, 2015

This lookbook title says it all -- I was literally inspired by my boyfriend for this outfit. He recently got a bomber jacket from Topman and I loved it not only on him but also on myself!! Unfortunately for me (and fortunately for Carter) his jacket was a few sizes too big so I couldn't steal it from him! SO i went on a hunt for a jacket similar to his and lo and behold I found on in the Forever 21 Men's section (in size XS) and I love the look.

in the grey.

November 13, 2015

I'm now a sophomore in college and have been able to stay true to my oath that I would never wear sweats to class. If you do, thats cool and do you, but I just can't do it. Why? Well, I have two mottos -- the first is "you never know who you'll run into" which is totally true (you could run into the Biebs and would you want to snag a pic with him and you're wearing sweatpants? i thought not), so never leave the house looking a hot mess. I'm not saying paint your face on every day before school or a meeting because no one has time for that, BUT wearing sweats doesn't help you look any more presentable. Also, for me wearing a put together outfit usually makes my day a lot better. Weird I know, but its so true what I wear does affect my mood.

There's a common misconception that the reason why people wear sweats or hoodies to class is because "finding a cute outfit takes too long" or you "just want to be comfortable" but here I present you with the sweats replacement outfit. Voila! It was honestly so comfortable and fashionable at the same time--I got the feel of wearing sweats without actually wearing sweats. It was pretty magical actually.

mad for plaid

November 05, 2015

When you're average girl thinks of fall one of the first things that comes to mind is probably Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbs (which I honestly don't think is good but thats just me). But when I think of fall I think of plaid and flannel. I've been a religious plaid wearer in the fall whether its actually wearing a plaid shirt, using it as a layering piece or tying it around my waist to spice up my outfit. The thought of a plaid dress never crossed my mind until I saw this beauty at Sugar Love Boutique in Fort Wayne.

Side note: If you live in Fort Wayne go check this store out, its honestly the cutest boutique  and if you don't live in Fort Wayne you can shop on their online store (you'll  thank me later).

This dress is perfect for any day you're in a rush and don't have time to put together a complete outfit. All you have to do is throw on some sneaks, boots, or sandals and some arm candy and voila you've got yourself a bomb 5 minute 'fit.
